I remember finding my Dad’s Dylan records for the first time when I was like 4 or 5. Then I went through that phase in Junior High when I thought he was just terrible. It was that unfortunate hair-band phase. Then in college it seemed like everyone was rediscovering him again. I can remember walking downtown in Eau Claire in November listening to “Another Side.” Just the other day I played “Blonde on Blonde” for my toddler. At first he said, “I don’t like this.” But then mom started dancing with him and he loved it. It was a close call. He almost had a negative early Dylan experience. Could have resulted in serious psychological repercussions.

Period footage – including from his 1965 European tour – was assembled for a new video for an alternate take of a Highway 61 Revisited classic.
